Hey everyone and bob. I have a 2000 750 with the 125 elpto. I bought this boat a couple of months ago so i dont know how long it has been doing this. When cranked and running when you shift from neutral to forward its a hard quick shift. Like a thud or wham. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thank you

Make sure the idle speed is NO MORE than 750RPM IN-GEAR. Neutral rpm can vary boat-to-boat. It is normal to hear a solid "clunk" when shifting...that's good. You do not want to hear "ratcheting"....we like to use the term "granny shifting". This will quickly round off clutch and gear dogs and require replacement. ;)

Ok thank you very much bob i appreciate you. If the idle is too high in forward is there a idle screw to adjust or a lync and sync is needed

On that engine, port side, there is a white knob turn-screw clearly labeled "idle". Desired idle speed is adjusted by advancing or retarding timing. Retarded= lower, advanced= higher. ;)
