I have recently purchased a '04 882 with no trailer. I have found a trailer at bass pro for a '04 898. Does anyone know for sure if my boat will work with this trailer? I have called nitro and was told it "should" be ok, but service guy at bass pro says no. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Service guy should know. Also try looking up Trailmaster trailers on line. The bunks have to line up with your chines or she won't load and ride right.

Plus the 898 is a longer boat, trailer will be too long and your lower unit will likely hit the trailer loading. Shop it around.

MOST bow stanchions can be moved to accomodate different length boats.

If I move the stanchion back would that have an effect on the weight distribution? Probably need to just find another trailer. May be a good deal on trailer, but I would hate to screw something just to save a few bucks. But a dual axle trailer would really be nice. Thanks for all of the advice.

The stanchion on my 896 (2001) can't be moved back any more at all. Theres only about 6" of adjustment to it and it's all the way back. There's a cross bar in front of the spare tire.

Gene, did that spare tire carrier come on your trailor or did you add it? I am in the planning process of having one made for my single axle. I bought the side mount but didn't like the way it looked.
