Just got home from the tag agency and was wondering how much it costs in other states to tag your boat and motor.

Oklahoma gets:

for boat 2001 Tracker PT 185.........$84.00

for motor 2002 mercery 50 hp.........$33.00

......................Total ________

.....................................$117.00

No tax on the trailer.

Oops, sorry, the $50 is for Texas Parks and Wildlife registration. I think the trailer is about $34. Motor is free.

In SC, based upon purchase price on initial registration. Generally, $300.00. Every two years thereafter, about $50.00 or so.

My boat in mass

$65 for the boat for two years.

5% tax on the boat and trailer then it was bought

$60 every year for the trailer plate.

$20 per year for excise tax on the trailer.

Here in Tennessee we don't need tags on our trailers, so it's free. Later<>< <>< <>< <>< Jack

I think I paid $8 per annum. No insurance for trailers required in Georgia. The value of the boat is not a factor.

Correct me if I'm wrong fellow Georgians...

7% sales tax on the whole package for the original registration, so when I put the Ranger on the water is was over $700, but then you have to re-do the trailer every year for minimal, maybe $20. The boat has to have new stickers every 3 or 4 years and they charge about $50. The first one is the killer.

In Iowa The bi annual boat sticker is about $17 for boats uder 20' for two years. The trailer is $7 annually.

Wisconsin: 2003 Tracker 16' $29 3 year

2003 trailer <1500#, free, suggested get

lic if trailering in other states.

Minnesota: 1976 Starcraft $23 3 year

???? ???? trailer $5 permanent + fees

Hokie smokes!!! You guys have it easy. Indiana rips us off. I think my registration was $120 per year and around $30 for the trailer. Annual launch and state pass is a around $50 and license plate for the SUV was about $700.

nc registration for the boat is $25 for 3 years. trailer license tag is $15/ year. this doesn't include property taxes on the boat and trailer.

i am surprised that nc doesn't charge more for boat registrations. they charge $40 for hunting/ fishing licenses per year. don't tell anyone, but i wouldn't mind paying more for boat registration if they would use the money to improve the wildlife ramps and keep them a little better maintained.

thank goodness, i have a lifetime license for hunting/fishing. best $$ i have spent in a long time. don't have to worry about the yearly ones expiring. they offer deals on infant lifetime licenses. used to be if you got your baby a license before his/her 1st birthday it was $100. they have gone up now to $200,but that is still a deal. my boy's lifetime license is framed on his wall in his bedroom. the kids are still required to take a hunters safety course when they turn 16. that isn't necessarily a bad thing either.

lets see for my 96 PT 175 its about $120 for taxes and the sticker per year...nothing on the trailer

That first on sure is a killer isnt it Rob? in mass the tax is 5% so its not quite as bad. The think that sucks in mass is the excise tax we have to pay every year on the truck and trailer. Its like a road use tax, im not sure if other states charge it or not. The first year i had my dakots i paid close to $600 in excise on the truck in addition to the $1200 or so in sales tax. at least the excise goes down as the vehicles value depreciates.
