I am curious as to how many of us that have to put their boats up for a long time (winter) set teh trailer on stands to keep the wheels off of the ground? Seems my tourney partner has two boats, Fisher 180 and Nitro 929. The 929 has radials and the 180 has the older style non-raidals on it. He never puts his on stands and I am arguing with him saying the 180 rides rough due to flat spots from sitting for so long. I have radials on mine and have never had this problem and neither does his 929.

Any thoughts?

I don't think it's that big a deal either...I do jack mine up about once a month and roll the tires 90 degrees to help prevent flat spots but, mine's in the garage.

I think it's more apt with bias plies vs.radials.

Got radials on the G3 trailer which sits empty in the winter (boat is on the dock lift). The deck boat trailer has bias ply so when that gets stored in the garage in the off season, one of the many steps is jacking up the trailer on jack stands to keep the wheels off the ground. Don't know if it makes a difference, but the trailer runs smooth.

Mine has been on blocks since the end of October. It will be coming off real soon.

I have radials on my NX882 trailer and also had them on my old Xpress X54's trailer. Both of these boats trailers sat on a concrete driveway from November til April, through a New York winter. I have had no problems with flat spots on radial tires.

Same hear, i have an 882 with radials and store mine all winter. I place board under my tires to keep them from sinking into the drive way. Never had any problems..

I jack mine up and put it on blocks. Not just for the tires but to save the springs as well. I dont know if it helps or not but ive always done it and will continue to do so.

Garage for 1/2 the year or more here....don't put on blocks/jacks. Haven't had any trouble....but the cold tends to freeze things pretty hard so maybe that helps keep them 'preserved'.

I put mine up for 18 months while in China, I have the biasply on the Nitro (not radials), so I used the bottle jacks, took it down 18 months later, had the shop do all new bearings (just in case after 10 years with the original ones), and not 1 problem in the last 18 months since. To me its better safe then sorry. $20 in bottle jacks vs. bad tires.
