I know there has been MSG. on this but just wanted to past this on.

Since I am picking up my 1st boat - a new Targa on the 15th-- I called my All State agent -- I asked him about "replacement" boat coverage. What happens if a year from now (God forbid) I have a total lose for some reason. He said - I would get the blue book value of the boat. Not good -- I may / will lose lots of $$. He said Progressive may have "Replacement".

Call Progressive-- not problem -- for $310 / year they will do replacement for 5years-- I must keep the original recept.

After 5years we start back with the blue book value.

Waiting for the 14th-- Rick

thanks for posting rick. I have all state insurance now and do not like the "blue book" value approach taken by insurance companies on boats or autos.

Thanks for the "heads up" Rick, I have Allstate too and will now go back and read the policy in detail, I'm sure it'll be the same as you mentioned as far as replacement.
