Ok this is not what some of you think.....I bought a Boat Buddy for my 901 and I just found that on my trip back from FLA the darn thing failed. The steel rod that locks it to the boat to the trailer is bent as well as the metal frame. Has anyone else had any trouble with one of these things. I just started using it a few months ago and it worked pretty good until now.

I've never used one but I have read on other boards that they don't last very long. Too bad, it looks like a good idea.

GUYS:

EXCUSE ME FOR BEING STUPID, BUT WHAT IS A BOAT BUDDY, EXCUSE THE CAPS PLEASE.

Dragon,

I used one for several years with no problems, I did not leave mine latched all of the time like you are talking about, after pulling out I would release it and use the strap. I dont think they are designed for the type of use like you used it, they are mainly for steep ramps and such so your boat doesnt slip back on the trailer when pulling up the ramp.

I looked at it again and with the boat on the trailer and tight to the front there is no way you can hook on the strap, just not enough room for the hook????? I am tossing it!

I used one when they first came out. LOVED it....until the rod bent and a weld broke.

Havent owned one since.

Mike, I 'think' it's a trailer accessory that supposedly closes on your boats bow eye automatically when you drive your boat onto your trailer. I've never seen one work though and I thought you would have had an answer by now..:(
