Batteries

I'm going to buy two new batteries tonight.



Should i get the group 27s like i have or is it ok to get a group 31? I'll have to install two new holders but i'd like the bigger batts.



Someone said that my stock charger wouldnt be enough to get them charged overnight at a tourny. I start tourny fishing very soon.



Should i just get the 27s again?

All depends on how much $$ you want to spend. I can't imagine that your charger won't power them up overnight.....?????

Bj i would unless you plan to get a bigger charger too. Back when i had a 5 amp charger and group 31's in my boat it wouldnt charge them fast enough for two day events. Thankfully i didnt fish too many of them back then. I dont know what your tournaments are like but around here we have times where you get back to the hotel at 8pm and have to be on the water at 5am after the ride to the ramp. At times like that when you only have 8 or so hours to charge the batteries it could be a problem. I have had times where i have been out on a really windy day and been worried that my 10 amp wouldnt get it done. You dont want to take a chance on not having them charged and ready to go if you can help it.

ummm...well...i want to get a set of trojans..but thats kinda out of the question money wise right now.



I'm going to wal-mart in a few minutes to pick up two batteries. Can I get a set of group 31s? is my charger too small? Its a guest 2611 two bank charger if that helps

Jim-thanks, I'll go ahead and get the 27s. Tourny fishing for me is similar. I dont fish a whole lot of multiday events right now. My boat will be on the charger for about 8 hours or so during before practicing due to prefishing.



Maybe next year I'll be able to get a set of trojans and a bigger charger.
