Concerning the water trapped in my boat, Doug Patillo, put me in touch with Steve Richardson at Tracker. WOW. This guy knew, and remembered stuff about a 13 year old boat like you wouldn't believe. He was very informative about how to fix it, and probably saved me $1000. Plus he also told me how to rig my engine on the transom for peak performance. ON A 13 YEAR OLD BOAT! Is that service or what? Thanks a ton Doug for the referral and please send my thanks to Steve!

Don't you love a good company taking care of customers! I'd LOVE to hear the idiots on the OTHER fishing page cringe if they read this.

OK Rob - Now give us the details so we know what to look for in our newer boats.

If they've got those kind of folks at the top, and examples like Ken, Craig and crew in Auburn Hills to hold up, maybe we are beginning to see a change in their corporate culture. One can hope.......

I had the same kind of quick, professional response when I submitted a question to Tracker about jack nuts. (Oops, did I let that slip out? Sorry. I'm going fishing this weekend. My mind must be wandering.)

OK, but it's a long story. When I bought the boat, the previous owner had done an exceptional job of masking an impact in the hull dead center in the bottom of the vee where it begins to plane off on the dead rise. Well, I kept getting water in the boat with no rain, and now waves. I had someone drive while I peeked my head in the bilge area (only attempt this at lower speeds, with a trustworthy driver, on calm water, and if you're crazy like me). Only during take off and slowing down, a small stream of water would run in from somewhere around the oil resevoir. Well, apparently it was running down the bilge trough AND also down the side under the foam into this compartment. I theorize that it was the impact area, as there is a crack there that must have opened a little under the pressure of water on the hull during hole shot and slowing down. Once on pad, water can't reach it. Well, Steve let me know that those transoms are not balsa but pressure treated marine grade plywood and are completely resin coated and cased in fiberglass. He also assured me that I could cut some drain and ventilation holes into the side of the compartment to allow it to dry as the glass there is not structural. So, I will proceed tonight. Hopefully, when I'm done and the body shop is done with the small crack where the boat hit something, I should be set to go for the season. Wew, ok, now I'm done!

It's part of the reality that there are people who get to be at the top by "performing"...And, there are people who want to be at the top so they "push" people/things "down"...like bashing another guy's boat. It's real easy to see that here we don't bash...and we have lots of good people who "haunt" this site. Those people are "top quality" in my opinion. The fact that some of them work for Tracker/Bass Pro is their and our good fortune. But, I know that they would be doing the same for us, regqardless of who they worked for...They are just "that" quality of people. However, like little ripples in a pond...good deeds done...even in the corporate setting...spread out. Success is "catching"...good customer service leads to good customers...So, "our" guys there are undoubtedly setting an example of what can be accomplished by focusing on good customer service.

As I said, Tracker/Nitro/Bass Pro is d@mn lucky to have them.

Just my 2 cents

I've also had the pleasure of dealing with Steve over the phone. He was a big help in solving and resolution to (2) problems I've encountered.

I can only wish all Tracker employees had his personable way and the company as a whole adopted his style. I've been less than satisfied with their attitude and probably would not purchase another Tracker boat in the future.

Well, because of this site, folks like Ken, Craig, Jenny, Steve, Doug, Jackie, and Rick, I am seriously considering either a 901 or a tricked out, souped up, voodooed 882! As I said before, I think great things are happening at Tracker! Thanks to Rich, this site is a good indication!
