I know this sounds out of the ordinary, but I can't keep my 3 cats from making a "home" in my boat. My $15000 bass fishing boat is turning into the cat motel.

They only really stay there when the cover is on (somewhere to nap). I have tried pet repellant spray, a mosquito net, and now moth balls. Anyone have any other ideas?

My last alternative is to build something out of wood (using cardboard now) to fill in the "gap" between the cover and the motor where they can get in.

I take it that the majority here don't like cats?

Haha, Jamey, I am the owner.

They only go in the boat when the cover is ON, hence the problem. Sprays work IF you constantly spray every day AND it doesn't rain :). It gets expensive buying all those sprays all the time. If they learned to stay away, it would be one thing, but they don't.

Garage is out of the question, it won't fit :(

The old pair of jeans could work if the were sewn (word?) into the cover, but I'm not sewing anything into a $350 cover...LOL!

Looks like building something sturdy is my only option here. Cats can squeeze between some tight spots :)

You can aslo buy an electro-static mat that administers a mild deterring shock to the animal. People will put these mats on their sofas or beds to discourage pets from climbing around. You could place one of these on the spot where they enter the boat.

I agree with bruce...spray the cats a few times and they will never go back....unless ther's bass food!~

I don't like nor dislike cats. Each is different. Like people. I hate mean cats and would rather them push up daisies. Also the cat's that can't leave you be. Now the cat with a cool attitude; you know the one that gets high on catnip and then runs into stuff like he meant it, and comes and sits on your lap when you had a bad day but doesn't rub up against your leg when your dressed for a wedding and leaving. Now that cat is cool. The same cat that would EAT your neighbors mini doberman if given the chance!

use moth balls in a coffee can it works they cant breath that stuff and it wont hurt boat
