A couple of weeks ago, I printed out the messages to Penny that were posted on this board and mailed them to her. I just received an e-mail and thought it appropriate to pass it along to all of you.....

"Just wanted to extend a late 'thank you' for posting the message about our two friends who were killed in the boating accident, and for sending some of the kind folks replys to me. (In retrospect, I wish I didn't mention the brand of boat that hit them, as it had nothing to do with it....the driver just simply wasn't paying attention. Never knew my note to you would be transferred to a site for all to see). However, your efforts and thoughts are kindly appreciated. And so were all the wonderful, heartfelt messages from 'the group'.

"Been on the road with my husband at business meetings and am heading off again today, so need to close. Just wanted to say thank you. Their deaths have really hurt our circle of friends...it just isn't the same without them, yet we all have to move on with life. Tragedy is a hard way to lose someone."

P.S.

I hadn't even noticed Penny's comment about posting her last note until after I posted this one..... I sent her another apologizing for having done so and hoping that there was no offense committed..... I explained that I thought of her as part of our "extended family" and that what affects one of us is felt by all.....

Always a good idea to ask permission first before posting someone else's words in a public forum....

Scott,

Your posting of this accident serves to keep us all at a heightened level of awareness when operating at high speeds. There's a lot of lake out there but there is no room for complacency.

I hope something positive can come out of this tragedy.

Yeah..... I know..... Sometimes I just act before I think..... VERY bad habit.

Don't worry about it Scott, Penny knows you were directed by your heart and that's not a fault.

Where were you, Bear, 40-some-odd years ago when I needed homework excuses for Sister Maey Perpetual-Patience? :^)
