Well, what can I say.
I enjoyed my Nitro 750NX that I started with.
I was happy with my Triton TR-186.
I am "exstatic" with my new Nitro 901CDX!
I cannot believe the difference in overall ride and comfort.
Took it out this past Saturday, had a minor "adventure" at the ramp.
Let's just say that when launching your brand new boat, make sure SOMEBODY has a hold of the rope! The lake was up, the boat didnt want to float off the trailer with me in it, I got out to back the truck in a little farther and off she floated, pretty as you please, with no one on board, and the rope neatly on the deck! Mrs Sim and Me just looking at each other kinda funny, then I wade out to catch it before it got to far. Fortunately it was a warm day and I dried off eventually!
The boat fired up beutifully, and after idling out and taking my time, I got her up on plane... man, it rides good. The "hole shot" is incredible!
New hydraulic steering is a reel plus as well. Never been in a boat where I didn't have to "fight" a bit to keep it straight. Steering response was exceptional!
After running, the fishing aspect is also exceptional. Huge decks with plenty of room to work. Tons of storage space. (All of my tackle that filled the TR186 fits with room to spare up front in the 901!)
Only negative I have right now deals with the trailer, the bunks aren't quite right (one side is snug to the boat, the other side doesn't fit flush in the last 6-12 inches) and I just noticed that the tires aren't "even" in the wheel wells either. (one side is pushed forward compared to the other, see pictures)... I know this isn't right. (Funny the things you see when you have time to really look)
Will be taking that to the dealer to figure out what to do about it.
Great boat... I don't see me upgrading next year!
