I have a 2000 nitro 640lx that I just purchase and it needs a steering wheel alignment...

How can I do the alignment? It is not to difficult to do?

Sounds easy... Will do cause its so bad it's driving me crazy, I have to keep looking to the back all the time before i'm taking off, specially at the dock...

tein,

If you are having the same issue i had with my 640, It had nothing to do with alignment. My situation was you would have the wheel at 9:00 to keep it going straight, even after it was up on plane. A little research and it seems that the reason it is doing this was the motor is trimmed to far under the boat, causing it to plow through the water. I have since pinned the motor on the second last hole from the bottom...so it cant trim all the way down. The last time i was out it was 45 miles an hour staright as could be....perfect.

Just a thought,

Scott

I just purchase this boat 2 weeks ago and I have being on the water twice so I will go tomorrow and check that out.... But even when it's out of the water (in my garage) the motor it's straight and the steering wheel at 9 o'clock.:(

45mph with a 640 you must have a 90HP... I do 32-35 tops full tank of gas and gear with a 60 and thats GPS. I was told thats what they should do.

I used the boat this past Saturday and it doesn't matter if the motor is up or down the alignment is off; now when the motor it's up the alignment is not that bad; since I'm thinkin of changing the steering wheel, once I get the new one I will do both... Thanks for your advise...
