Hooked up with Marke Cicero today and fished Champlain out of St. Albans Bay. The south wind was strong with 2 to 3 foor waves!! I usually don't go out on days like this but we went for it anyways. We ended up with about a dozen smallies including one that I caught that weighed 4lb 8oz. This is my personal best for a bass of any species!! Excellent net job by Marke! We fished until 1pm and gave in to the wind/waves. I'll let Marke tell the rest of the story when he gets the chance. He is currently driving back to NH for a much needed nap. I want to thank Marke for coming up on short notice. We had a good outing on Champlain and I look forward to doing it again!

Scott,

I got the Nitro hat from John Foster. He had an extra one from last year's rally. I were it religiously when I'm fishing on my Nitro!!!

Hey Bob,

I made it back. It took longer this time cuz I stopped for gas, but still under 3 hours. That little can hit 100mph with NO trouble at all.

Thanks again for a good day on the water.

I'm going to sleep now.

Marke

hey Bob, marke how you boys doin' ?

That's a nice fish. i went fishing on the St-lawrence a couple of nights ago and made out real well. about 20 fish on poppers with my 5 biggest weighing 17.5 lbs....caught and released my biggest smallie at 5.47! too bad this wasn't tourney fishin'!

If you guys feel like making the drive up sometime let me know.

Pierre

Pierre,

5+ pound smallie is awesome. My goal was a 4 pound smallie and now looking for a 5 pounder. Also looking for the 5 pound LM. How far from here to there? I live in VT across from Plattburgh.

Jamey,

Dude, you should have gone fishin'. The lake was rocking and rolling today just like the day you and I went! We fished some new areas and did well. The fish is a true 4.5er!! Congrats on the cable modem! Time for some serious downloading!!

Bob, really nice fish, now if Rob and I can catch 8 like that on Aug. 4th I would be extremmly happy. Nice fish....

Buzz,

I hope you and Rob do well. If I ever caught 8 fish like that in one day, I would probably quit fishing while I was ahead!! Good luck next week.

Bob,

The St-lawrence is about 2 hours from Plattsburgh, real easy drive. It holds lots of nice smallies, but largies are mostly found near lake Ontario.....I say this

3 hours Pierre. Nice fish Bob, looks like my game face you had on for that shot!

Rob,

I have practicing the "game face" for my pics!!! Thanks to you and Marke, I have been catching some nice smallies in the middle of summer. I have been fortunate enough to get out on the lake 2x per week.

Mac,

I can only catch one nice one a day!! That's why I have to work for a living and fish for fun!!! I like to eat on a regular basis!! In my book, Rob is still the man on northern Champlain!!

Notice who took the picture. I think the secret is having me on the back of the boat. Curtis was having a slump until yesterday. I was in the back of his boat and he had 5 fish and about 12 lbs. in 20 minutes.

So just consider me as "Partner for Hire". You provide entry, gas and boat and I'll supply luck and fish. My going rate right now is $100 per lbs or 30% of total payout....LOL

Marke

Now who's getting big for their britches? LOL Sounds like you need a 45 place slide to humble you! LOL

Rob,..We've been trying to tell you for months BigDog,...keep your words soft and sweet incase you have to eat them,....and by all means don't over eat!!,...save room for some "Humble Pie!" ahahah,...now shake it off and get ready for the next one!! You'll get your big win soon 'nuff! Keep pushin'...we're behind ya!!

Mac

I actually was pretty humble. It was my mom that kept raving! I told her, "Ma, I still have to do well tomorrow. This isn't locked by a far shot." Maybe I jinxed myself! Never fear, this boy will make the headlines again and again. To get so close as to taste it, and then not cash in! Man, that just made me mad, and I fish well when mad. Watch out Buzz, you're destined for fame this weekend! Kidding. Just paying my dues. Hey, Yelas stuck it out for a decade and now his reward, I'll get there, but no matter HOW big I might eventually get in fishing, I will never forget my friends here. Somebody mentioned something like that. There will always be room for Nitro and Tracker owners in my boat! You guys ROCK!

BobG: It's really close, not 3 hours. It takes me 2.5 hours to get there and I'm 30 mins from the border. Rob is still the main an on ALL of Champlain...

Jamey: sure, we should meet up...that river is tough but once you've got it figure out it's alot of fun.

Rob: I could see you being BIG MAN on campus after the first day...and rightly so. My ass has been kicked by bass so many times it's scary!!! You're still the main man. I'm convinced that thinking (knowing) you're going to come up big is the single biggest tactic you can have. Confidence is key, so it's good that you beleive in yourself.

Pierre

Geez Bob, with a fish like that I would have thought you would at least "crack" a smile.

Well Done!

Stacey,

It's nice to hear from you on the website!! It takes a lot of practice to keep a straight face!! I'm pretending like I catch fish like that all the time! When are you and John going to come east?? I don't think I'll make it to CA for training/fishing for awhile. Tell John I said Hi. Check out my library, I put some pics of my kids with some their fish.

Bob G.

Mac,

Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment!! I have been working on that look for years. I guess I can stop practicing the look and catch more fish!

Bob G.

It's the "game face" that we all had in high school "team pictures"....remember those??!! A whole football team sitting for a group pix and not a single smile in the bunch!

If you smiled you got dogged for not being "serious enough!"..ahahah....

Oh I remember that face Mac, when I was a Full Back on my Highschool Football team, we made it to State in 1983!

Fullback??..LOL!!!!!!!....They wouldn't even let you coach 'cuz when you blow the whistle the air pressure knocks you back 3 feet!! LOL
