I have pro tournament 150 built in charging system and would like to switch to Lithium batteries---need to verify I can do this

Your charger only supports lead acid, gel, or agm batteries. You will need to replace with a charger that has support for lithiums. NOCO makes a good, affordable option as well as many other brands. If you are planning to go lithium on your engine crank battery, make sure you do your research and get the proper battery.

Thanks for reply----that's what I figured---also talked with Mfg.

I do not use lithium due to the price, however I believe that many outboards' alternators cannot support charging a lithium battery. Check with the engine manufacturer to determine if your outboard can support a lithium charging battery.

Times have changed....The price of lithium's is the same as high end agm's nowadays...sometimes cheaper. The performance of lithium battery's are leaps and bounds ahead of agm's and a huge weight savings to gain. Dont be afraid to make the switch if you can. Mercury provides a list of approved lithium cranking battery specifications and engine models.
