hey everyone i just bought a 2000 nx750 dc with the 125 tracker elpto. it takes forever to get it to crank. it will hit then die about 7-8 times then it will finally run and idle. is there a starting procedure ya'll recomend.i had a older venture with a 70 horse johnson. i would hold the primer in for about 5-6 seconds and put the lever all the way up and she would crank and idle 2-3 tries. i saw the button on the throttle lever. when it does idle it idles i think really to high. it idles at around 3000 rpm. thats if the tach is working properly. what to check for.

Hey Chris;

-1] Tilt motor to vertical if depth allows.

-2] Pump primer bulb till firm.

-3] Advance throttle {you'll have to get familiar with this}, to allow about a 1500 neutral rpm.

-4] Turn key and hold "choke" {it's really a primer} in for about 2-3 seconds then simultaneously turn the ignition key to "crank". Once it fires, release.

-5] If it seems to "sneeze" or falter, tap the primer as many times as it occurs.

;)
