Guys,

Just had an issue with my buddy's trailer.

He has a flat 5 plug on his Z-8 trailer, thing is its a tracker plug and has 8 wires going into the plug.

3 white 2 brown and the other three are the standard yellow, green , blue,

The plug needed to be replaced. The replacement he bought only had 5 wires.

white, brown, yellow, green and blue.

We cut the old one of and jammed the three white into a butt connector and hooked to the white.. Did the same with the 2 browns on the trailer. Others were hooked one to one.

Everything worked fine when he left, except that he is now blowing fuses in the truck..

What did we do wrong??

Thanks in advance,

Luke

Bubby , get you a 12volt test light have your pall hit the brakes ,park lights and all of that and find what is what coming from the vehicle end of the plug. trace the trailer wire see what is what.. You either got a dead ground or have a ground hooked to a hot wire. It's a simple fix just trace them out.
