At the nearby town of Wootton Bassett, where people line the streets in a mark of respect each time a dead solder is repatriated, dozens stood silently -- some with dogs at their feet -- as Tasker's friends and family laid roses atop the hearse.

Now that is how it's supposed to be done!!!!

Chokes me up. I always have my two vizsla's at my feet or sleeping on the end of the bed. I hope he and pooch rest in peace.

A cat would have just taken up with the next person that gave it a sardine.Sad story,sometimes the bond between a man and his dog is beyond comprehension,unless you have been lucky enough to have experienced the total,complete love of a good dog.
