24 volt battery

Need help or answer...I recently watch a video on YouTube on how to hook up a 24volt for a trolling motor...



I connect positive from battery 1 to neg. on battery 2 and neg from battery 1 to positive in battery 2...but every time I get to the last connecting there is sparks...am I doing something wrong here...

you need the positive of one battery connected to the negative of the othe battery and connect your trolling motor to the pos of one and the neg of the other

If so It still read 12.xx volt on meter

What could go wrong if I did all that is needed to have a 24volt and the meters is still showing 12.xx bolts

Where in the line are you taking the reading?

Using the figure provided by Jim B. If you put one meter lead on Batt 1 positive and the other meter lead on Batt 2 negative, you will measure 24V DC. Assumption, meter set to DC voltage and red lead in V jack and Black lead in neg/com jack of meter

Thanks....now it's reading 26v...



It wasn't fully charge...duh me lol
