My bilge switch does not light up and my bilge pump does not work.. The rest of the switches on the control panel light up and have power. I checked the fuses under the dash and they all seem to be ok. I ordered a new switch and installed it but that did not work either. Logically I think that it is an electrical problem rather than a pump problem because the light does not come on. Would a bad bilge pump cause the switch to not light up? I hope that it is not the pump because I do not want to pull the gas tank to replace it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Use a amp/volt meter to check power at fuse block where fuse is for bilge or check for power where wires go to switch, if power is there then it's the fuse or bad switch, light should come on even if pump is bad. Pump should be wired straight to fuse block no quick disconnect... only way to test if wire going to pump has juice would be to cut both red/blk close to pump and test them...... pumps do go bad or could be jammed with sediment ??

All fuses looked good but I replaced all of them today just to be sure. I now have a working bilge and i am relieved that I do not have to pull the gas tank to put in a new one!
