Is it really necessary to fog the cylinders on an outboard that is used during the winter?

I fish through November, then am out again in January/February for 4 days, and then twice more in March (trout fishing) and April (crappie fishing) before hitting the summer bass season.

It seems to me that, as long as the engine is being used periodically, fogging the motor isn't necessary.
