This boat has been posted at various sites including this one, Why won't it sell?

1996 170 DC Nitro Rick Clunn Edition. Excellent condition, Cypress (dark green)/Sahara Sand Hull Length: 17

cq,

don't know why.

here are some thoughts for what they are worth. what is the price of the boat? you may have it overpriced. might check out nada.com to check the price. the galv. trailer leads me to believe it has possibly been in salt water. this boat may be bigger or smaller than the optimal size for the fisheries in the area where you are selling. looks like it is pretty well equipped.

Have you posted a price?

What price?

That is the first question people ask.

Have you been getting calls?

How bad is the economy in your area?

Sold my 170 tf 1996 on e-bay.advertised on sereval sites this on included. Ifound that you have to give them a approx.price AND....PICTURES...Your asking people how cannot see your boat in person to think about buying it.One picture in the mind is worth a thousand words.Several pictures are worth even more ! Give them a taste of what it is your offering them. I do not have a digital camara so I took some with a regular camara took them to SAM'S CLUB orWALLY-MART and for 2 bucks they put them on a downloadable disc for you.

Just my thoughts, It worked for me.

mark g,

that was a good lookin boat you had. good pics. and you could tell it was in nice shape.

cq,

not sure how you have your boat listed but your wording may influence potential buyers. i wouldn't list all the details of the accessories as it may come across that you are having a difficult time selling. just list the major items and the benefits of the boat with some great pics. you are competing with everyone else selling a boat.

jd

Thanks for the input. When posted it only includes the major components, with picture and price.

I guess I just put it up the wrong time of the year.

I will be listing in the local papers and some web sites in about 2 - 3 weeks. The price is with-in NADA and selling prices of other boats similar to this one.

CQ,

Just my opinion, but it 'seems' that you are reluctant to state the price. When I'm shopping for something, if the price is not listed, I won't even bother.

If you'd like some definite feedback on why it won't sell, what's the price you are asking?

Also, you state in your 'ad' that it has only 45 hours on the engine. Yet it's a 7 year old boat. That would raise questions with me. That's less than 7 hours per year.

Looked at your library. Boat looks in good shape.

Wrong time of the year. We're just now coming into the buying/selling season. I have only had 1 bite on my boat up to this point. But now have a few interested parties and intend to list in the paper this weekend. Also remember, income tax returns get people shopping. That's why so many boat shows are in March. Good luck, be patient, it will sell.

Thanks Guys, the post states $8700 neg., I ordered it and then after a short time moved to Ohio, this was so grandma did not have to drive 22 hours to MI. We spend a large number of days either in MI or the granddaughters down here. Low hours, the girls are not big enough yet to get out. I burn at least one tank of gas a year and try to keep it good shape.

One thing that I am hestate to say is that I am having a problem with the sun.

cq,

hope you mean the boat is having trouble with the sun and not you.

put some of that 303 on it. go to 303products.com and read up on this stuff. hope this helps,
