Yeah, the post did go downhill pretty quickly but the CIR question is a good one as was the hook location one. I will add those to the list.
Here are some rough ideas so far:
I. State of the Bass, other fish and aquatic life in each state
1. What is the trend for the fisheries - upward improvement? downward?
2. What is the average lifespan of bass?
3. What is the average size of smallmouth and largemouth in your state?
4. Do you believe there could still be 10lb. plus bass in your state?
5. What is the growth cycle (average weight per year)?
6. What is their primary forage in the state?
7. Are there any studies underway to track bass like they do in other states? (Michigan comes to mind)
II. Catching Bass
1. There are some fishermen who say that the pros don't really fish for big trophies because of the structure of the event. There are climatic zones within the water column and you need to focus on finding the specific zone. Do you agree? Talk about this.
2. How does a drop or rise in the barometric pressure really affect bass and other fish?
3. What is the ideal temperature that triggers the spawn here your state?
4. What is the impact on spawning if you catch a bedding bass and release it? Will it continue with the spawning process?
5. A study was done in Canada about a bass' home location and it's ability to travel back there once caught and released several miles from the home location. Do you know whether or not a bass will travel to it's home location or stay wherever it is released? Back to the spawn - does this have an impact on it travelling back?
6. If you catch a bass and it is hooked deep, should you cut the line and leave the hook? Will the hook eventually rust out? If the bass is bleeding, what are its chances of survival?
III. Vegetation and their environment
1. What are the major invasive species you are seeing in your state?
2. What is their impact on the fish population and the aquatic environment in large?
3. What is the impact of chemical treatments like fluoridine to control vegetation on the bass population?
IV. Peta and anglers
1. Ever since the Royal Society published a paper a few years back on nociceptors and the ability of trout to feel pain, there has been a raging debate over whether or not it is ethical or humane to catch fish for sport. At the heart of this is whether or not fish have the patways to consciously feel and process this in their brains. What do you think?
V. Other

If anyone else has something they think would be good to ask, please let me know. I am going to try to reach out to the fisheries to see if I can chat with theirmarine biologists next month and figure out the best way to get a roundtable as well as one-on-one questions related to fisheries in their respective states.
Thanks again, Bill, the Mad Kayaker
