Hey guys, need your experienced opinion. I am contemplating selling my boat. I don't get to fish near as much as I used to (actually haven't been out on 2 months).

The boat is a 2000 ProTeam 175. Details: 50hp Mercury ELPTO, Eagle Fisheasy 2T on bow, Matrix 37 at console, 2 sitdown fishing seat also have butt seat with adjustable pedastal, on board charger for trolling motor battery, Motorguide 43 TM, TRACKER boat cover (with one 1" hole), folding tongue trailer, new trailer tires, has been garaged since I bought it in 2/03. Motor been maintained as directed, runs excellent, also have Magellan handheld GPS with mount at console.

I looked on NADA and found boat value of $6025 low, $7225 high and $1820/2170 for motor. Does the boat price include the motor (it listed 25hp), or do I add the motor value to the boat value?

The boat is in excellent condition. NO tears in uphostery or carpet. Carpet is not discolored or any runs, etc.

What do you guys consider would be a fair price to expect?

Thanks in advance.

I valued mine out the same way. NADA includes the price of the motor that was sold with the standard package. In this case the 25hp was standard equipment. You need to add the difference of cost between the 25hp and 50hp per NADA.

The 25hp motor is valued at $1420, the 50hp is valued at $2170, the difference being $750. Add the $750 to the $6025 or $7225 to get a starting point.

I remember a couple PT 175's sold not too long ago, see what they sold for before setting your price.

Hope this helps

Thanks Bruce!!

I was thinking of asking $6500 as a starting price before I looked it up. According to NADA this is low retail and this boat is as near perfect as a 5 year old boat can be. It is in pristine condition, just time for my yearly aluminum polishing. The interior isn't faded, torn, etc. Plus it'll come with upgraded fishfinders and a handheld GPS (most likely).

Again, thanks.

Scooby - MAN you'll kick yourself next year or in the fall when you want to fish!!

But, if you are selling it the question is - Do you want it gone fast and need the cash? or the highest price? That will help you decide how to price it. IF you REALY don't want to sell it, but if the right $$ comes along, price it higher then if you want to move it.

I know Trep, haven't made the final decision yet.

As far as speed...not in any hurry. I was fortunate enough to have the cash when I bought it and I got an unbelievable steal of a deal. IF I sell it I may wait until next February/March when the market is hotter. If so, I may start at around $7k depending on what similar boats are going for at the time. I remember when I bought mine that I would call when the trader would come out and most were sold or someone was there looking at them. Found this one driving down the road one day as the guy put the sign on it. I was in the back of the fire engine and yelled for them to stop. Had it checked out the next morning and bought it...all the while people were calling or stopping by.
