We had us a EARTHQUAKE!

On national news, epicenter was Plattsburgh NY, 5.1 on the richter! What a way to wake up at 6:50 LOL But the good news is the rivers are up to only 2 ft below normal, so water looks good for the rally! Back to the quake, how in the world do you west coast folks tolerate that mess all the time?

I felt it pretty good too! I'm 25 miles east of Albany, NY. Jolted me awake! I thought it was pretty "KEWL". Not sure I'd want to live in Calif. with all those that they have....but this one was an experience.

Did you have any damage in Plattsburgh?

I was up doing laundry and just sat down on the bed and the bed started to shake I thought that the washing machine was in the spin cycle and the clothes were out of balance. So I get up and go into the laundry room and see that there is nothing wrong, the machine is spinning along just fine with nothing out of wack. I really didn't think anything of it until I say it on the news an hour later.

I just looked at the USGS. earthquake site and it say that California has had 186 quakes ranging from 1.0 to 4.0 in the last two days.



As long as we keep having the little ones. It's those 7.1 quakes like the one in 1989 that really mess up the place.

Carli, there was some damage. Unfortunately a gas line broke in a 200 year old strip of stores in Keeseville where my mother-in-law lives. A fire broke out, wiped out most of it and killed 3 people. Other than that, just the usual falling stuff in houses and cracked walls. We had one like this when I was just a kid, and I slept through it. We had aftershock the whole day. I live next to a quarry that blasts pretty regularly and I thought "WHAT the heck did they blow up this time and at 7:00 am?" Didn't affect the fish though!
