Hope some one here can help out. I've had my 901 for a yaer now and I can't get the dealership to take care of the waranty work in a timely manner. The boat goes in and it will sit there for days on in and sometimes I'll pick it up to go fishing and nothing has been done t it. I called Tracker today and was basically that they have nothing to do with it. "We sell the boats to them and they sell them to you, deal with them"

Is there anything you guys can recommend I can doI am at the end of my rope. Tanks in avdance. Buzzbait in Cal.

Buzzbait...

How about giving us some details... And, excuse me, but, the warranty for the boat (hull and its components) are from Tracker...not the dealer... thye work might be done by the dealer in some cases but the obligation is Tracker's. Likewise with the motor, if its a mercury the obligation is on Mercury. So whoever is telling you tat the "warranty" is a dealer obligation is blowing smoke up your ... (you know where). But, give us some details and we will try to help out with some suggestions.

lol Mike,

Buzzbait, what exactly is wrong?

You mention picking it up to go fishing so we can guess it must be a fit/finish thing and not a motor, mechanical thing? Please let us know more, and good luck, egMike

How about posting details on that dealer here (and at the Better Business Bureau) so that we all will make informed decisions on who we choose to do business with?

Buzzbait,

who is your dealer and what is wrong with the boat or motor? more info please...

agree with Greg, tracker should warranty their boat which they made unless the dealer is 'factory authorized'. Either way, I would hope that it wouldn't take months to even get started on the repair.

Which dealer are you "not" getting service from. Tracy Marine or Gone Fishing Marine in Dixon??? or ????

I am very curious as to which one as I am starting to look again at boats and dealer service is a Major part of my decision.

Let us know

John

NBO is quite right..... It is the Dealer's responsibility at this point.

Please do not go stirring up trouble for Tracker when it is not justified.

Thanks!

me!

Buzz bait, my boat sat at the dealer for over a month and nothing was done to it! I called another dealer and they took good care of me!! Try another dealer

I too switched dealers (to BPS), and found that I got much better service - with both in warranty and out of warrant work.

When I picked up my 901 a couple years ago, my sales guy told me that I had to bring the boat back to them for all warranty work on the boat & trailer. He said I could take the Mercury motor to any Mercury dealer for warranty service.

Warranty issues with boats and motors are just like cars - you can take them to any Authorized Dealer.

I think Trackers response to Buzzbait says it all.

I would think that Tracker would at least call the dealer and ask that they get this worked out (maybe they did!), or possibly let him know of some other places he could take it to get it fixed.

Mostly it was "small" things like the steering probles, the bow stand too tall so all the wait was on it rather than on the bunks, the boat sits an inch and a half above the bunks up front, carpet falling apart (this at least was finnaly resolved)trolling batteris coming lose.

The dealership happens to be Tracy Marine. Buzzbait

Most of those things sound like "dealer" setup issues... all but the carpet... So, Tracker's response was probably correct. There are differences between warranty issues...defects in material and workmanship in the manufacturing process... on the hull and the motor; and failures by the dealer to properly prep and rig a boat. The dealer gets some $$$$ for setup (probably not enough) and has the responsibility of "prepping" the boat and trailer. In addition, the dealer is responsible for any rigging... depth finders, rod holders, other electronics, chargers, etc that you add to the boat.
