Has anybody ever used any of the variable pitch props such as the Switch Blade from Aerostar Marine or the Land and Sea torque shift? They want a lot of money for these things, and I have heards some good words, and some bad.....

Yeah, what he said. Bob knows his stuff Don. The only thing I know of them is that I have heard the props have been known to break off as there is less weld surface holding it then a conventional "to the hub" prop. Get it pitched right, a jack plate, right elevation and you'll do great.

Bob and Rob, thanks for the replies. Maybe one day I will have the disposable funds to get one! I was curious becasue of the claims that the are making about these props. Have you guys ever seen the Land N Sea video clip? Its more than impressive...But, you have to take it with a grain of salt....and a smile on your face! I have the video clip if anybody wants it..

Bob, thanks for the replies. I was a little reluctant to believe the video clip.....an 18 foot open bow with a 150 doing that launch.....They could have simply stripped the boat out and put a 150 cover on a 175 or whatever to get the results they show. Since I have heard it from an impartial user, it is now believable!
