Using available space

In my 2004 Targa 17 WT, there is room under the consoles for small objects to be stowed. Has anyone come up with an easy method? I am using 2 bungee cords to hold up a bag with sweatshirts and ponchos. I would like something better. Cargo netting comes to mind, but I am unsure how to attach it. Any ideas?

I have fabricated a two tiered shelf to install under the console... still leaves all the floor space... At the back I have an elastic mesh pocket from Walmart's Auto dept... cut out of an inexpensive back of the seats storage thing (under both consoles) the shelves are a short (about 6 inches deep) one with a lip for little stuff and then a bigger one under that one all the way to the front with some of the mesh (above) attached with snaps...
