Thought some of you might be interested in this. Terraserver is a web site from the US Geological Survey that shows aerial photographs of the whole country down to a detail of 100 meters per inch. It has search capabilities also. Most of the images are from 1994 to present. Although it is very fast with a highspeed connection, it is acceptable with a dialup. The link is below and I've included a sample from one of the lakes I fish. You can see part of the lake shining (pictures taken on a clear day) and part not (cloudy). One of the pictures is a 32 square mile view while the other is a 2 square mile view (there is also a 1 square mile where you can see the waves).
