Hey all...

I got a postcard in the mail last week requesting that I go to a website and provide feedback on my recent Tracker purchase (March 2001)...15 responders were to get a BPS gift certificate for $100 to $400...hmmm didn't sound too tough...

Anybody else get one of these notices???

Anyway...when I got to the site, the first box on the survey was "enter the type of Tracker boat you purchased"...

So I hit the dropdown list and scrolls and scrolls and scrolls...NO TV-18!!! There were boats in that list that I had never heard of, every boat Tracker makes...BUT NO TV-18!!! Had to enter "other"...aaarrrggghhh

I'm feeling slighted...

What do you think MO, Marke, Tex, and other TV-18 owners???

They know the TV-18 would get a 5 Star rating.

No reason to waste the marketing dollars on surveying that boat...LOL

Yeah, you're right. Since the TV-18 wasn't on the drop-down list, I had to select "Other" as well.

Don't know about that Ed. They are in 2 totally different price markets. I don't think the TV-18 is going anywhere soon. It was well received and fits the budget of a lot more people than does the Avalanche. Probably just an oversight.

I'd have to agree with Rob, Darn I hate when that happens! Not only the price difference but the layouts and deeper V nature of the TV-18 fit it into the more typical northern or rough water boat market where the Avalanche (not saying it can't handle rough water) is aimed at the typical fiberglass Bass boat market.

It looked to me like they didn't take off the Tournament-17 (which is no longer produced) and insert the TV-18.

I agree with Rob. The TV-18 and the Avalanche are two very similar, and yet very different, boats. The Avalanche would be the Cadillac of aluminum bass boats, while the TV-18 would be more of a regular Chevy. The Av is really designed for tournament fishing, while the TV-18 is marketed at the recreational fisherman. I don't see them eliminating the -18 anytime soon.

I thought it was around a 4-5k variance. Maybe not. Tracker is constantly revising their sites, so it may have been missed. It was the first all welded, aluminum bass rig of it's kind, and to my knowledge was big success for sales. I wouldn't worry about it going anywhere.

My dual console TV-18 with the 150 (and spare tire with mount) was right at the price of a single console, no options Avalanche with the 125. That's makes the two boats fairly different, and I think shows the different market segments each boat targets.

Base package price between the two boats, with no mods, is several thousand dollars, primarily because of the base motor utilized (75 h.p vs. 115). Use the same motor, and the cost difference is $3,500.00

Tracker also markets the TV-18 as a deep V, big water hull with a bass boat layout, while the Av is marketed as an aluminum boat with fiberglass lines. My opinion is that the Av was not designed to replace the TV-18. Even the beam dimensions are different.
