Have 189 sport and has 46# motorguide. No good at all. Soon as i see a good deal going with an 80#.

It will work fine. But your current setup is most likely 12 volt. I am not 100% positive but the MinnKota pictured could be 24 volt. If it is 24 volt you will need to find room for an additional battery. If you have the space for the extra battery, it would be an axcellent upgrade.

And the pictured motor is an I-Pilot, electric steer not cable. Nothing wrong with that but you better know what you are buying. I would go as big as you can afford. Go at least 24v even if you have to add a battery. I am partial to cable steer units and not the electric steer.

The motor pictured is not an I-Pilot, but a PowerDrive (version 1 I believe). Been a few years I believe since they made a 65# unit. My 2005 model PD was a 70# 24v so that makes me believe it is pre-2005?? IF it is that "aged", I think $450 would be too much for me to pay for it. The earlier PDs were rumored to have foot controller issues. I had switched mine to a Co-Pilot add-on, so the foot control was removed shortly after I got it so I have no first hand knowledge of foot control longevity. Agree with Tox, do a little research on what your buying, I personally prefer the electric steers. My new unit is a Terrova 80# I-Pilot & I love it. The spot lock is awesome as well as the contour tracking. (I don't even use anchors anymore, although I do keep one on-board in case of an emergency.)

Thanks to all that reply.. I went to bass pro yesterday and bought a 70lb thrust minn Kota edge... It was on sale plus a free fish finder... Did the installation today...can't wait to take it out and test
