I have a mercury 4 stroke 150 and it has a limiter on it! It stops about 48 or just left of half. Do not mess around with your motor unless you really know what you are doin, just saying.

been inside lots dc motors.got all cleaned up and commutator polished .runs super. the wireing insulation was crumbling off the heavy leads . have replaced from brushes to connectors . about 2 feet. still checking things.

all back together motor runs fine but still wont work . time for .repair shop. or replace the unit.*&%$##$&*(

took the unit to a machine shop yesterday. the owner has worked on lots of hydraulic systems. maybe he can fix it for less than the price of a replacement.

it all started when i thought my bp cuff was goofy.rook in to the cardio unit to check it. used mine, then the nurse used theirs then she said we should get an ecg . says this looks strange i think i will show this to the cardio Dr. nest thing im in a wheel chair headed to the icu. scheduled for pacemaker the next morning. too nights in icu, now im home again, left arm strapped down for 6 weeks. i never felt bad at all . they told me that i was in a fall back mode with the electrical system , but you don't run long in that mode then its all over.

To olefisherman456:
Yeah, 6 weeks seems forever, but it's worth it in the long run. If you were closer, I would come over and put everything back together for you. I'll have one for your recovery (my doctor allows me 2 drinks per month). I've been holding back - I figure in 7 months I can tie on a good one, right after I get finished putting up the Christmas tree. I'm pretty sure he meant an average of 2 a month. What do you think?
Anyways, glad it was caught it in time.
Here is to the best for you, even if it brought back memories to me.

Something similar happened to me 2 years ago. The Monday before Memorial day weekend, I had an annual visit with my cardiologist. Tuesday the doctor called and said something showed up on my tests. He wanted me to see a specialist right away. I told him I felt fine, and I was going on a camping and fishing trip at the end of the week for a week, and I would set up an appointment when I got back. The doc said no trip, I needed to see the specialist this week. I told my wife the trip was still on. Wednesday evening, I got short of breath, and ended up in the ER, and had a heart catheterization. The specialist saw me the next day, ran some tests, and told me I needed a defibrillator and pacemaker. The operating rooms were booked until Saturday, and he would do it then. I said can I wait until Tuesday (day after Memorial day), because I didn’t want anyone working on me if they were upset because I messed up their holiday plans. (I have a sister and a niece who are nurses – I know our plans have changed before-). He said ok, if I would go home and not do anything, just sit and watch tv. He said absolutely not when asked if I could go fishing, and added no drinking. Obviously, he didn’t know my fishing skills, because he was worried I might strain my heart too much landing fish. So I agreed, knowing full well my wife would make sure I followed his instructions. He might have been right, since I'm still here. I think now my wife wishes I had gone fishing.

next door neighbor came over and helped put the trim unit back on the boat.we were going fishing the morning that the problem was discovered. wanting to go out this weekend ,however im not supposed to drive . wife says most that are my age will spend the 6 weeks in a nursing home . mowed half the yard yesterday , if its dry enough i will mow the rest!! and the garden needs some work and the lettuce is ready to eat.
