Transfer of warranty

I bought a used 2000 PT 175 about 2 months ago. I sent in the warranty transfer card and it was sent back denied because the warranty can only be txfred once after origial owner. It was registered by boat broker when he bought it (had it for about 2 months). Now I cannot get it.



Any ideas to what I could do?

Same problem with my Nitro. I purchased my 2001 Nitro as a Bank repo. Not even 2 years old. They refused to transfer the warranty even though it was the original owner that lost the boat and the bank sold it to me. They said the bank was the second owner and they could not transfer the boat warranty to me. Mercury, Motorguide had no problem honoring the original warranties.

Very interesting reading. Will definitely have some affect on my future boat purchases, if and when I decide to change boats. This is the kind of 'stuff', that can best be described as ticky-tacky.

so what happens if you buy used from a nitro dealer? i got my 882 last year from a dealer and he told me the hull warranty transfered but i never got a card to fill out or anything like that.
