Hey folks, I have a 2011 tracker bass boat 17ft with 60 Merc efi 4 stroke.my question is putting boat back on trailer. The front hook where you connect the hook to crank it up. According to boat shop the hook and loop is supposed to go over the roller. This is difficult, destroys the roller. Plus can not get boat off trailer without lifting front of boat. Which means I'm in the water. Summers fine but here in ma in October it's cold. Any thoughts on this in

if it goes over the roller, what keeps the boat from sliding forward/up and over/into the back of the tow vehicle on an emergency stop, other than the rear tiedowns? What keeps the bow from bouncing going down the road over bumps? My front strap always goes under the bow roller.
