I own a 2000 Tracker Tournament V-18 and was wondering if anyone has ever removed the panel where the shifter/throttle is next to the console. I'm trying to remove it to pass my transducer cable and some power cables to my new sonar. Any help on how this is done would be great.

Thanks,

Reno

I run my wires to the panel and removed the drivers seat where there is access to the rear compartment...at least it's that way on the 185. Should be the same......

On my 175 I did remove the shifter panel, it was easy on my 175, it was 6 screws and it slid right out. Then I used a snake to run the wire down to the back into the bildge area. If i had been SMART and Planned it, I sould have just pulled it through while removing the old transducer cable, but ***** me just cut the old one off at both ends BEFORE trying to remove the shifter panel.

I would assume its the same on the TV 18, but not sure.

Reno, let me know if you need any help, I've done 3 at the console so far ;)

Thanks for the offer Bruce. I managed to snake the transducer and power cable thru last night. So far so good. Hope the rest of the installation goes just as smooth. Bruce do you have a GPS on your boat? If so, where did you mount the antenna?

Thanks everyone.

Reno

I haven't graduated to GPS yet, nor does it look like I will have the chance now. By looking at the console, my guess would be somewhere where the 2nd cupholder resides is the best place.

Reno,

I've got a GPS unit mounted on my boat (2001), but it has an integrated antenna. If I were to mount a GPS antenna (for, say, a Humminbird), I'd look at the spot just ahead of the console and cupholder where it's flat and there is carpet. That piece is aluminum, comes off fairly easily, and gives you direct access to stuff behind the dash. In this photo, its the flat carpeted spot, just ahead of the driver's console. If you put it there, it won't interfere with the rod locker lid.
