After two screwed up fishing trips, two trips to my authorized MinnKota reapir center and countless hours trying to figure out my trolling motor problems, I have found the culprit. Somebody in Bolivar on the assembly line didn't bother to tighten the screws on the back of the TM circuit breakers. I could check the bow recepticle with a meter and get full voltage, but as soon as I put a load on it, wierd things began to happen.

My TM is a Genesis that has a lcd display. It would intermittently show LP (low power) and shut off. I'm happy that everything works now, but am pi##ed off that it got out of the plant that way.

Oh, well, when I "lake checked" it all is now ok and the fishin' was good. 5 LM between 15" and 18" in three hours.

What just a blamed second. This "bolivar" you refer to... tell me more. I'm a TN boy and Bolivar is where the West Tennessee (forget the PC name) Mental Hospital is located. SURELY we aren't talking about the SAME Bolivar... if so, small freaking world.

Thought these boats were built in Rcansaw..That southern slang for you yanks..

OH NO! Don't get ME started on Tracker "quality" issues! They don't even vacuumm the #$^&&*@@# crap out of the bottom before they put EVERYTHING together! What kind of junk is THAT!

I just had the piece of junk livewell pump burn up on my 2002 rig..nice huh?

Just don't get me goin...

WHOA! Tee, I thought you were on the Tracker bandwagon. Do we need to chip in and buy you a vacation to Dusty Rhodes Marine? :)

If y'all seen what I had to go thru to get to this point..you would understand. Don't get me wrong...I like my boat but, when every time you turn around ..somethin' else is wrong...it doesn't help.

If Tracker would pay me what I'm makin' workin' for the Federal Guvment...I'd straighten' that QC problem out for em'.

Ahhh... The pleasure of boat ownership. No matter what brand it never seems to stop. There is always something i need to do for each trip. Bass boats make more electricians and handy men than any other mode of transportation.

The boats are rigged after they leave the manufacturer, If it makes you feel better i have noticed that junk with several brands of boats. You've got a reason to be upset, not with the manufacturer but the place that rigged it.

Of course I'm not blaming Tracker for a MinnKota problem. The MinnKota is what displayed the problem with the boat wiring. Nothing was wrong with the TM.

I don't know for sure but, I think the reason these pumps on the 175's and 185's are burning out is they are mounted horizontally instead of vertical....wouldn't that create air pockets?

I've had this problem since day one...turn it on and it takes a couple of minutes before it gets all the air out....any suggestions?

BMCD...true..your gonna' have lemons with any. I just did not have a good experience with my purchase but, none of the REAL problems had to do with the rigger.

I've done years of Quality Control since I've been in the Tool & Die and machining industry but, seen some problems with things that should have been caught at the factory.

Then again there is some that's never had issues or problems with either the manufacturer or the rigger...

My first boat I ordered..a 2001...had to go back to the factory because of some REAL issues that BPS or Tracker could not take care of.
