Tracker Pro-guide 16'

I have been looking at the Tracker deep Vs agian. Has anybody used them on bigger water before? How is the ride. Is the carpet a horrible mess in the salt and will it hold up? How important is a self bailing cockpit like on the bay boats?

I have a Pro Deep V 17 with a 90 hp Merc. and I like the ride very much. I'm not gonna say it rides smooth as silk in rough water but, it sure isn't bad. Planes in about a foot and a half and steers like a Mack truck until I can get the motor trimmed. For once I think I bought something just right. I can fish from the Gulf Of Mexico to Lake Erie and anywhere in between (of course you still have to be careful around the big water). I think 3 foot swells is about all I want to tackle. I think the Deep Vs are a very good choice if you want to fish for all types of fish.
