I find that the steering in my Tracker is 'sticky' at times when I trim up for higher rpms....smoother when more of the hull is in the water but shouldn't you trim up as much as you can without 'choppping' (motor not grabbing...) ? I grease all fitting on a regular basis. When I say 'sticky' I mean I have to turn the wheel harder for little turns or keeping the boat in a straight line. I was in a friends boat with the same type of steering and it was very easy to steer...... thanks, kenny g.

More Than likely you have your motor trimmed up to much. Try trimming it down a little at a time at high speed. You should be able to tell the difference on steering pretty quick

kenny,

My PT175 does the same thing when not trimmed just right.

are you using grease for the cable. mine has a grease fitting but it uses an oil, to keep it smooth.
