Well, I gotta make the old Olds Bravada breath for another year so she's getting a transfusion. Here's my "to do" list on the truck aside from the house!

Strip down panels (starting next week)

Repair leaky windshield

undercoat and paint entire truck (big job!)

Fix rear defrost (this weekend)

Convert and charge A/C system

Fix rear main and water jacket leaks

Flush coolant system,

replace radiator

Fill with new low temp additive coolant

replace temp sensor, sending unit

Rotate tires (this weekend)

overall check up on brakes (only 1 year old)

new fog lights (this weekend)

new HO halogen headlights

Rain "gutters" on all windows.

Repair remote locks/ keyless entry

install remote car starter and alarm

New adjustable shocks/suspension

Add subwoofer and amp to sound system

Possibly have motor reported one last time before rebuild and boring out with oversized pistons (trying to make my 6 cyl into a 8 cyl HP wise)

Replace exhaust system (this weekend)

And that's just the truck!

Here's the boat:

Install Keel Guard (have it, just need right temps....June?)

Install new graph unit at console

Install new locks on all compartments

Install Loc-R-Bar (next week)

Install deck extension

TRY to develop a functional rod organizer and install! LOL

Fix trailer brakes (next week)

Buff up whole gel coat to get "yellow icky" out from last year!

Install new quick attach wing nuts to windshields

Repair "oh $#!+" handle that SOMEBODY ripped off last year!

Change lower unit lube (this weekend)

Change plugs (this weekend)

Run ring free in first tank then bring to shop to have injectors flushed and cleaned

Replace stock dust covers with Bearing Buddies on hubs inside Ranger hub covers (next week)

Steam clean carpet on decks and clean livewell system out for year.

So there's my truck and boat. Like I said, don't even get me started on the house. So WHO wants to be a guide and pro angler???? LOL

Already spent about a week of evenings sorting tackle, replacing hooks, sharpening hooks, servicing reels, and respooling.

Yeah OK. YOU drive into Detroit with 10 gallons of Premium Quicksilver, a $400 spare prop, a $750 spare trolling motor, clothes, rods, etc and park at a rest area or restaurant for a few hours and leave all that out there! The alarm will only take 5 extra minutes while I'm installing the remote starter. Same wiring, just 2 extra sensors for doors and windows. I was just thinking of putting a nasty, mean, rabid Rotty back there!

Rob where did you ger the quick release things for the windshield? i want to get some for mine. i hate having to unscrew them to clean behind them. Im glad my list for the year is much shorter then yours

Mine is

change tranny fluid and fiters in truck (tommorow)

change transfer case oil(tommorow)

change front and rear diff oil(tommorow)

Relax(sunday)

pick up boat from dealer on monday

fill boat full of junk(next sat)

go fishing(next sat)

I haven't found them yet Jim, but I know Nitro had them on the 9 series boat, so I will see if they work on my Ranger and order some.

I didn't even think about changing my diff/gear case fluid. Thanks for reminding me. That's only a 15 minute job though. I don't mess with trannies 'til they're broken. Learned that from my grandpa. He's been a mechanic since the Korean war. And what he says is true. Everyone I've ever known that changed the filter and fluid had to replace their tranny within a year. You stir up all that junk that's settled. If it ain't broke don't fix it. But as for the rear pumpkin/differential, I know first hand what repeated boat launches and submerging can do to those. Need to check those seals and the fluid every year.

Im one for changing the fluid in the tranny on a regular basis. I do mine every 25k and i have never had a tranny problem ever on any vehicle i have ever owned. I could see if you never changed it then went in there, sometimes its best left alone but in my case i change it frequently enough it should be no issue. im related to a tray rebuild guy and he tells me change it every 25k and i will have no issues, he has been right to date. The only part about my whole deal is the cost. I need 12 quarts of mopar atf+4 for the tranny and transfer case at $4.50 a quart(down from $7.50 last yeat), two quarts of 75/140 synthetic gear oil for the rear diff at 20 bucks a quart(dealer only source) and two quarts of 75/90 regular gear for the front thats cheap. also filters for the tranny(mine has 2).

I looked on TH marines website and they make the windshield clips we are looking for. I just need to find a source, im going to check with a dealer in my area that carries lots of th marine stuff and see if he has them or can get them. If he does how many do you need? I had them on my old boat and they were very nice to have.

Rob, you just need to jack that sucker up and run a new one under it. LOL

My plans for the weekend:

1. Slap on newly straightened prop.

2. Go fish.

3. Eat chocolate Easter bunnies till I hurl.

4. Watch Sopranos.

It's a tough life but somebody's gotta live it.

Harpo

But then I wouldn't get to play with all my new tools....

sand blaster

new spray gun and new detail gun

compressor...

ARGH ARGH ARGH!!!

To do:

Make Toxic's kind of coin so I CAN

Buy new truck

Buy new boat!

LOL

WHAT exactly do you do for banks again? Rob them?

Ha,ha, ha,.....

Actually might be going to get the new truck this weekend. As for the boat, somebody PLEASE buy my 9 so I can get a new one.....I'm not loaded!!

TOXIC

Doesn't sound good Rob,

My to do list, Drained and replaced lower unit oil today, Started engine with muffs. Loaded altralights and tubes into boat. Headed out in morning to go for some perch and crappie on Black Lake. ice is out on my end but not in the middle section of lake. Walleys have started spawning heavy in the river just up from my camp. Where there's spawning walleys the crappie and perch are close by. Might even get unlucky and hook one of those besky bass. P.S. the N.Y. Bass Federation has started their drive to push for a catch and release Bass season during what is now our closed season. I'm hoping we suceed.

Jeese Rob,

It sure is a good thing you like to do that stuff, or your schedule might be full!!!!

Carlos

Bring the rotweiller,....he'd look funny as hell with no eyebrows too!! LMAO!!!!

Un Rob - What's the cost of the repairs/upgrades vs. the current trade in value of that Bravada? Is it realy worth anything more then just basic maintenance and break/fix for a vehicle it sounds like you may only keep a year?
