Picked up a jon boat so I can fish some lakes that are very low due to our drought and was wondering about the transducer mount. My question is how well it works if I epoxy it on the inside rather than mounting externally. I would expect it works fine like on a glass boat but I'm new to tin boats so I just want to get some feedback before I glue that baby down to the boat.

Easiest place is on your trolling motor with a very large hose clamp. I also had one mounted on the rear bottom (externally) on the jon boat I just sold. Worked well there.

Woody - The transducer will NOT work if epoxy'd to the bottom inside of a Aluminium boat. You'll need to do one of the options Scott proposed (Trolling motor or standard external Transom Mount).

I bolted my transducer to the bottom of a 2 foot long 1x3 and use a big C-clamp to attach it off the rear of the boat when I want to use my jon boat.

Woody - you would have to buy a transducer expressly designed to shoot through aluminum. A standard "puck" style won't go through aluminum accurately. Its probably easiest (and cheaper) to go with one of the options already referenced.
