throttle problems

I have a 98 700lx, my throttle/shifter (quicksilver 3000 classic) isn't working right. Its tight shifting into reverse and when you put it back in neutral the engine wont turn over. Any suggestions?

I may be mistaken, but I think there was a recall on that model.

Jeffry - Like Ken I remember a recall, don't remember which model. BUT, I had what sounds like a similar problem with my 2000, it turned out the throttle shift cable was just a slight bit mis-alligned, the shope in about 1 min fixed. With mine I could NOT get it into Reverse or neutral (when it SEEMED to be in Neutral is WOULD start but it would also start moving forward.

There was a recall on the 3000.. Might check with local Mech... If thats not the problem then it's a simple adjustment issue that won't take any time at all to fix....
