you wont be sorry you bought an oldie if its in good shape.the difference in quality is in favor of the old ones.i recently checked out a new nitro and i felt that my 95 was better even after 28 years.

Nice looking boat! I have a 92 180tf and I really like the layout. Fishes good and perfect size for me. Like seeing those old OMC motors too. I have a 150 Evinrude. Keep us posted.

I just replaced the water pump and serviced the foot oil, I am taking the boat next week to have the self oiler bypassed, it may sound crazy since it is working at the moment but I’m afraid if it goes out there goes my engine , I get it bypasses for about $250 a lot cheeper than an engine

The switch you're asking about opens and closes allowing water into your live well. I don't remember whether the left or right opens but when your boat is in the water, check your live well to see if there's water in it. if there's not, turn it the opposite and allow water into the well, and Visa versa to drain out of the water. I have a 93 2000DC. Hole shots aren't great but a comfortable fisher.

My opinion that's not a good ideal. If it's not broken I would keep as is. When you bypass you have to mix the oil yourself at the tank where as you have a reservoir doing it for you. You mix to much you will smoke up the area every where you go. Not enough then you risk again hurting the engine. Just remember every time you gas up you must oil up.

Agreed. I have the auto oiler on my boat and have never had an issue with it. I use full synthetic oil. Good for the outboard and it minimizes the smoke on start up.
