Well just heard on the radio today..Caesers creek is now charging $5 a day or $25 a year for parking fees.

I'm not overwhelmed by it but, just learned my no-resident lisence for Tenn. has almost doubled this year. Trailer lisence doubled...and boat registration fee also went up!

Looks like fishing will be expensive this year and not due to tackle:(

Sucks....

Non-resident Licenses for Wisconsin, Missouri, Minnesota, and Kentucky...

Launch Passes for Fox Chain and Lake Geneva...

An average of 60-70 new cranbaits each year...

Just ordered three 1000 yd spools of Power Pro... And 1000 yd spool of 10# Trilene

Probabaly about $100 worth of "parts" for crawler harnesses...

Tournament entry fees (Oh BOY!) for only seven tournaments (so far)

Boat and trailer insurance and registration

Boat and Motor maintenance...

And, I caught fish as a kid with a cane pole and a cork... HAd lots of fun...

And, on and on...

Move to Ireland. Last time I checked there is no fishing license in the country. Fishing is considered a fundamental right. LOL

All kidding aside the word I hear is states will continue to raise hunting/fishing licenses in the future. I wouldn't mind so much but in my state they must spend the money at the casino's.

Tee - At $5 a launch it's quick and easy to make that $25 yearly fee back. The Army Corp has a yearly pass (good anywhere in the US at Corp lakes for $25/year vs. $2 a launch.

TEE,

Just looked at the DNR page and this Park's Pride Pass will be good to any Ohio State Park. Since I like to fish East Fork and Rocky Fork as well as Caesar's Creek, the $25 pass will pay for itself quickly. What I don't like is if you have people coming in to fish as well that aren't riding with you, they have to pay to get in the Park. The website did mention if there isn't anyone around when you enter, they will have a "honor" system drop box for the fee. A park I visited in Northern Wisconsin has this program AND they actually enforced it. Saw a Conservation Officer track down an owner of a vehicle parked in the lot that didn't have they reciept in the window (It wasn't me - that day ;-) )

Don't get me wrong here...If that's what the funds are to be used for:( We all know what happens when a good deal of money is involved in anything. Funds will be diverted and they'll just ask for more.

Bottom line...Where do you draw the line.

Trep..the launch fee at Dale is $4 to $5 a day and $30 a year:)I know...I pay it.

I buy KY, Ohio, and TN licenses. I get an annual ramp pass for Cave Run Lake and pay daily ramp fees at Dale Hollow and $6 for some lures and almost $2 for gas. But I fish therefore I am...therefore I pay.

I purchase a SC Parks pass annualy for $50.00. I never get the full use of it, but figure it helps out the park system.

In Michigan you can buy a state parks sticker ($20-$25)to get into any state park. Unfortunatly it isn't good at state run launch ramps($4 each time, and no yearly pass). Atleast if you get to the ramp before the DNR guy you don't have to pay, unless it's a state park. If it is a state park and no one is at the gate they leave what looks like a ticket on your windshield for the cost of entry.

Let's see what that money will do for us...

What you do today is EXPECTED tommorow:)

A friend of mine just told me that Ky is going to start charging boat ramp fees this year ($3 I think) or $30 a year. Looked at the Ky Fish & Wildlife site but didn't see anything mentioning that. Anyone else heard about what Ky is planning?
