That nine lb Smallie

Got my May Bassmaster Mag today and there in the nine lb plus smallie on the cover!!! Wow what a perfectly marked fish, without a doubt the most beautiful bass I have ever seen!!!!!



Anf to think I am proud of the 2.5 - 3.0 I get at Folsom out here on the left coast!!!!!

yea I agree, after all the talk I was afraid I would be disappointed but compared to my uncles 6 pound 8 oz on his wall that thing is huge, check out how wide the tail is.

Mine was waiting at home last night TEE, and I had to chuckle!! That is a beautiful brownie!! I haven't had a chance to read the article. Wonder what kind of fight she (most likely) put up. Coloring looks like one of Carlos' compadre's ready for battle!! Fish of a lifetime for sure.

I ain't no fishin' guru but, I'm learnin' more and more about that lake each time I go. It's a little tough but, hell... what fun would it be if it wasn't a little challenge. I can say that my Dad and friend in his boat hit one point and had two 5's on at the same time...what a trip! Of course they really had to rub it hard in my face because I'm the one usually put the hurtin' on em'. I just laughed it off and said,"Wait til' Fall"....I'll be doin' the rubbin'.

When I caught my 8+ lb LM, other than the pure weight it didn't fight as hard as say a solid scrappy 4 lber. Now I have two smallies that were 6+ to my record and all I can say is smallies don't seem to lose the fight as they get bigger. Those two bad boys had the weight plus were full of pi$$ and vinegar the whole way. Nothing like watching a 6 lb smallie tail walk on ya, as long as you land him. But a 9 lber???? Man, that would have had me changin my drawers! LOL
