I was out today and really got to leaning hard on my engine trying to make it shut down again, got it to happen and checked everything out. I shouldn't even tell this but, it was the floating key chain blowing around, wrapping around the key and actually turning it back enough to kill the engine. (About halfway back to the off position) It definitely made me feel dumb but you gentlemen got me looking in the right direction. I have never had to retrieve my keys from the lake, so the lucky hooters key chain is now retired. Thanks again guys.

It's always good when it is something simple. Good lesson learned. Also on the key subject, don't hang 500 keys and junk off your tow vehicle keyring, it will speed up the demise of your ignition...Don't ask me how I know....Lots of guys leave their keys in the boat ignition while trailering as did I, but after one lost set of keys, they now go in the glovebox or console. I also had a spare set "hidden" in the boat.

You're welcome!

As Tox stated.....good lesson learned....and....we can never, ever "overlook" the basics. It is VERY easy to over-diagnose a problem, and be led on a wild goose chase.

Remember....

1. Fuel quality and delivery.

2. Ignition.

3. Compression / leakdown.

4. Isolation, elimination of boat components.

;)

Always fun to find out those problems are really not problems.
