taking motor hood off

Cleaned up the boat today, wash / wax makin her look real fine,anyway unlatched the hood on the motor but it won't budge.Is there something to unscrew?just played with it for a second and continued on some other cleaning,could it just be stuck?

Did you get all 3 clasps - there are 2 in the back and one in the front...

I have two on my 50 hp. The front one is always a billy goat to get unlatched too.

I will check it tomorrow,tonight I looked briefly and only saw the rear latch.Will post tomorrow when I check it more closely,thanks guys.

Sometimes the rubber seal around the bottom of the cover will get sticky with heat, oil, sun, rain and whatever else and may require a little extra effort to "pop" it off. Especially if it hasn't been off in quite a while.

Sounds like my 04 75/Optimax. Same thing I was cleaning up after a trip and wanted to look at the massive power head. Unlatched the hood and it was stuck to the lower seal. A little carefull wiggling and it came off.
