Hi,

I recently got a PT185 AND a new house. Unfortunately the boat does not fit as well in the garage as I thought it would. My trailer does not have a swing-a-way tongue but I am wondering if anyone has ever had one put on their trailer, if it is even possible to convert it and what it would cost????

Exactly! I wonder how hard that would be to put on myself? I suppose I would need a way to cut the old tongue off???

Alex, as bruce already said, you can use a Saws all to cut the tongue off. Make your measurements and add 1/8 inch. Get a large hose clamp and slide the clamp over the tongue and align with your marks. Tighten the clamp and use it as a guide for the saw blade. Take your time, to minimize the blade from going off at an angle. When done with the cut, use a grinder to take the cut edge to the marks. Apply some paint to prevent rust.
