Sue,

Thanks for the outstanding customer service. For those of you who are wondering what charger to buy... Guest gets my vote...before and after the sale. My 2613 went phffft and Sue has arranged to replace it for me...I tried to get her to drive out to Illinois from Connecticut and install the new one... But, even Guest's legendary (deserved) customner service has limits... :). There are a lot of good products but only a few are sold by a great company with great people. Guest is one. And, they are lucky to have Sue (and now Rob...Thanks buddy)

Rob,

Thanks for the kind words. I tried to talk my boss into sending me on a field trip with your charger, honest!

Sue

Sue,

Again, thanks for your comapny's outstanding customer service.

Folks, when diagnosis was that my charger had "gone phffft" it was replaced promptly. I would never buy another brand! Sue, personally, resolved my problem (after kindly providing me with an e-mail copy of my manual...I misplaced...to help me disgnose) and arranged for my replacement (Wow!).

She said it would be shipped and it was...like the rent-a-car commercial...These Guys (Guest) promise customer service and deliver it!

greg, you got it in your 19?where if it is did you mount it?curious?

Jeff,

I put in a raised deck (12" high) across the entire "back" (just 1/2" back from the back edge of the rear floor seat socket, 36" from front to back). The "deck" has a 30"X12" (12"high) livewell on the starboard side (long side parrallel to the gunwale, shares "plumbing" with the original livewell) and has a battery storage area parrallel to the splashwell on the port side 13"X 55"(? approximately). The two trolling batteries and the starting battery arfe now in that space (one of the trolling batteries is "in front of" the starting battery and the other trolling battery is to the startboard side of it). The charger is parallel, mounted on a support that runs parrallel to the side rails, to the gunwale. (I will post some pics in my library on the weekend, "cuz" I read this and its confusing to me!). But, basically I createds batterys storage and a livewell under a new raised casting deck! The deck does not interfere with the old seat locations. Only the jump seats are effected. The jump seats no longer fold down. I rearranged the hinges and the jump seats now arfe removed or lay flat on the casting deck. So, instead of of your knees being bent you now sit on the jump seats "indian style". I also added vertical rod storage along the sides.

ah i see now.ive toyed with the thought of a onboard charger, but due to space ive got to look at finding it!there definitely is no room under the back where the oil tank/starting battery is due to all 3 batteries are there now.

ive thought about doing the same as you did,but yesterday out with the boat just about killed my back.trying to run the riggers bending did me in for the night!so the raised deck is kind of out for now.

now all i need to do is create some brackets on the side for rod racks.they lay on the flat spot on the side of the boat right now.where do you have yours?what sucks is i go 9 1/2 ft rigger rods,8 1/2 ft walleye rods and they kind of dont fit the rails there now.i might have to notch the front by the consoles for them to fit.

I have mounted 1/2" plywood covered with matching carpet on two aluminum brackets (sort of "C" shaped) to fit on the raised platforms along the side and attached under the gunwale. The plywood is about 40" long so that rods in the Berkley racks fit flush to the sides but reels don't hit the aluminum because the plywood is "out" from the sides 1 1/2". But there is no way (that I can think of) to get 7 1/2-8' rods in that boat parallel to the sides without altering the console.

As far as the deck height, I don't use my downriggers (Unitrols) that often to have an opinion about the "bending over". I do know it is much easier to fish from back there with a rod because of the height off the floor. I have anm adjustable seat socket and a butt seat for the back and partners that fish there like it a lot. There's 20+ sq. ft of floor space, way more than the usual "walleye boat" back deck.

i was using the big jons out the sides of the boat.it was tough on the back.i found out today about the mri i had last friday, what sucks is the pain i have is from disk protrusion in 2 spots in L4 and L5.now on medications all the time, not just for pain as was before.dr says it is not surgical, but theraphy might possibly work.but the timetable he says is 12-18 months.

it was good though out in the boat, got 1 walleye 14".but it was the 1st time i was out in 4 weeks with my boat!

boy did it feel good if only for 2 hrs!

Absolutely do not have surgery until you have had a couple of opinions. There are very new treatments for ruptured/protruding disks that are alternatives to "old" surgery. I'll get some info tomorrow and e-mail you some "links". They say..."every day fishing doesn't count against your number of allowed days of living"...Might be true or it might not be true...But, it sure beats most other days.
