Well, I thought that I would post this so nobody would think that they were getting ripped off... Last week, I called the Stonehelm and got my reservations. When I called, I spoke to a woman that sounded as if she were from another planet. In any event, she told me that it would be $37.95 a night for my room, including my boat. She never asked for a credit card number and seemed to take very little info from me. Today, I called back to confirm things. I got a guy this time who apologized to me saying that she quoted me the winter rate for my room and didn't charge me for my boat. In any event, my room is now, I believe he said, $62.10 a night. I probably could have argued for the price difference but I didn't. It probably was a good thing that I called. Other than having my last name spelled right, all of the rest of the information that the lady took last week from me was wrong. This is strange to me because usually people spell my name wrong and get everything else right.

Since I have your atention, After looking at Marke's pictures, I'll express a concern again that I had a few months ago. CHAMPLAIN IS BIIIIIGGGGGGG. Is it safe for me to take my boat on Champlain with such a small motor? When we were planning on launching at Chazzy River, I had just planned on fishing the river and not risking the main lake. So, all of you Champlain veterans, should I bring my boat and fish myself or come as a non-boater??? I have a Pro Team 175. The boat is big enough, I just don't have much of a motor.

Don't worry about a thing Big Dog,....if it get's rough and you're not comfortable taking your boat,...you're more than welcome to catch a ride with me and Neeley.....my 901 fishes 3 people just fine!!! And I'll have enough tackle and rods for 6 people....so you're covered...seeya there!!!

I've made my reservations at the Stonehelm also. They quoted me $63.95 for two people a night, with boat. Don't worry about not being able to fish, I'm sure anyone of the people attending will be more than happy to let you ride. From what I've gained from my research using some older USGS maps, your not going to have any problems from where we're launching.

brian, probally going by myself,my 2 partners havent gave me a sane answer yet.but still going though.got plenty of room in the boat.

Hey Brian,

I met that chick you spoke with. What an air head (to be polite). She didn't know anything. Did the guy you spoke to have an indian accent? That's Petal (pe-TAL), he's the owner. He explained the whole thing about the winter / summer rates. He told Rob we could all get a 10% discount off of the $70 and change summer rate, hence $63 and change.

I launched from Point Au Roche on Saturday. Even if it gets rough out on the main lake there are still plenty of small bays and covers with good cover that you would be protected in. And like the others said, you will be more than welcome in any of our boats.

See you there,

Marke

Brian, never fear. You should be fine. As Mac said, if it whips up at all, there is going to be plenty of boats by the looks of it. I currently do not have a rider so you are welcome to ride with me. I won't "back boat" you as former visiters to the site have so mentioned. Ask Marke or Mike, LOL. On Champlain any part of the boat is as good as the bow. And Mini, we DO cull 3 1/2 lbers here too. I apologized to Marke and Mike for the day not being up to par before I left! LOL But I'm going to try your magnum flippin tube for the deeper mamas!
