17 Foot Tracker Targa/150MercXR6 is pulling hard to the left. The trim tab on the cavitation plate is angled approximately 15 degrees to the right. will straightening this up correct the steering peoblem? If not, anyone have any suggestions on corrective measures?

Thx!

I had a 16" Lowe with a 60 Evinrude that had the same prob. So a friend of mine and I broke out the the acet tank and got it hot enough to straighten it out. Never had a problem with it pulling after that.

Hope this helps.

Mine (18' Targa) used to pull hard to the right. Did all the trim tab stuff, but didn't help much. Then last year, I broke the prop and had to get a new one. Guess what - that fixed the problem. Now it doesn't pull much at all.

I'd certainly play with the trim tab first. I thought if you were pulling left you would set your trim tab a little left to correct it. The directions are in my manual but that's at home.

It's a 90hp merc, with the stanard 3 blade 23p aluminum prop. I was really shocked when it corrected that problem, but very pleased, none the less.

Put the SAME one (new of course) back on it.
