Steering Cable Maintenance?

I was wondering about the steering cables on my 2001 PT-185. I'm not even sure what system I have. Single cable or dual cable. Should I buy a Cable Buddy system and lube them? Is there anything else I should do?

I have not, I just squirt the greas into the zerk fitting on the mount area and leave it at that..sorry.

I have the lube system... And it has worked out for me... Inexpensive and a quick self-install... Seems like "cheap" insurance that I won't have an unexpected failure...

I've heard if you lube your cable to much it could break and fall off!
